Winter weddings are always an adventure!
What will the weather do? will it be a blizzard? white out? or will the weather be a perfect bluebird?
Normally people who get married in the mountains have a passion that runs through their veins and they want to share the biggest day of their lives with friends and family who also have that same passion or want to share the passion they have & show why they love the mountains so much.
James & Emma decided to tie the knot in the French resort of La Rosière in the French alps,.
I had never visited this resort and was surprised by who quiet and high the resort is. The view on the drive up the mountains was breath taking and slightly scary.
The family have been visiting the high altitude resort all of their lives and so it came as no surprise to me when Emma asked if I could provide a ski/snowboard shoot as part of the wedding photography package.
The day had everything that we could ask for from prefect blue skies to a bride & groom who could not be more happy together.
On the morning of the wedding I meet up with Emma's two brothers her Grand Father & her Dad.
What was brilliant was all of them were up for skiing and also getting some cool photos.
Emma's Grand Father at 85 was a revelation who was still skiing with speed, style and grace & was one of the most interesting people I have ever had the privilege of talking to.
After the morning shoot it was time for the wedding photos which took place on top of the mountain which were fun and involved lots snowball fights next the family and groom skied down the piste and I captured photos of them all flying down the piste together.
Soon after it was time for the wedding ceremony which was delived by Kay Evans who's beautiful way with words touched and moved everyone.
I feel so blessed to have been part of such a stunning day and I thank Emma & James for making me their photographer.
Here are the photos.......Enjoy
